Alterowany pieniek Timowy / Altered stump slice a la Tim

Trzeci z alterowanych pieńków - nieco inny, bo nie mediowy, za to Timowy praktycznie od początku do końca. Jakiś czas temu już te wykrojnikowe wąsy połączyły się w mojej głowie z tymi skrzydłami, szukałam tylko właściwego dla tego kombo miejsca. I oto jest - pieniek inspiracyjny pt. 'Teraz jest czas na to, żeby żyć chwilą'.

The third one in the collection of altered stump slices - slightly different this time, not media-heavy, but virtually all Tim. Some time ago this die cut moustache and the metal wings formed a couple in my mind, since then I've been looking for somewhere to place this combo. And here it is - an inspirational stump slice entitled 'Now is the time to live in the moment'.

Pracuję nad małą kolekcją alterowanych pieńków - właśnie powstał drugi (pierwszy można znaleźć tu). Mówię/piszę to już któryś raz z kolei, aż się zaczynam niepokoić, ale kolory nadal się mnie trzymają. Korciło mnie straszliwie, ale na tym pieńku nie użyłam żadnego (żadnego!) brązowego medium. :)

I've been working on a small collection of altered stump pieces - I've just finished the second one (the first one can be found here). It's not the first time I'm saying/writing this, and it's beginning to worry me, but I'm still all about colour. I didn't use any (any!) brown mediums on this stump slice, though it wasn't easy. :)

Ten mały szklany klosz Tima Holtza chodził za mną już od dawna, a kiedy w końcu dostałam go do rąk, długo myślałam o tym jak go wykorzystać. W końcu postanowiłam, że dostanie swojego motyla i wyląduje na środku magicznej łąki. 

The small glass dome from Tim Holtz has been on my mind for a long time and when I finally got my hands on it I thought long about how to use it. Finally I decided to give it its own butterfly and install it in the middle of a magic meadow. 

Motyla wycięłam z papierów TH Collage, pokolorowałam tuszami Distress i pokryłam Glossy Accents. Motyl 'lata' na cienkim przezroczystym pasku przyklejonym do korkowej podstawy klosza. Dookoła ułożyłam kwiaty wycięte ze starego papieru książkowego Sizzixowymi Mini Tattered Florals i pokolorowane Distressami. Jest też dużo kolorwanej Distressami gazy, stara dziurka od klucza i plakietka z serii Idea-ology pokolorwana tuszem alkoholowym. No i moje nowe ulubione farby Metallic! 13arts, których zdolność do mieszania się i dawania niesamowitych kolorów nie przestaje mnie zaskakiwać. Jest tu też odrobina biało-srebrnej farby brokatowej i białego tuszu Splash!.

I cut out the butterfly from the Collage paper collection, coloured it with Distress Inks and covered with Glossy Accents. The butterfly is 'flying' on a strip of acetate that is glued to the cork dome base. I surrounded the dome with flowers cut out from old book paper with the Sizzix Mini Tattered Florals - the flowers were coloured with Distress Inks. There is also lots of cheesecloth coloured with a Distress Ink-water mixture, an old key hole and an Idea-ology plaque, which I coloured with alcohol ink. Finally I used my new favourite Metallic! paints from 13arts, whose ability to mix and give beautiful colours does not cease to amaze me. There's also a tiny bit of the white-silver glitter paint and white Splash! ink.

Alterowany pieniek / An altered stump slice

Alteruję ostatnio wszystko co wpadnie mi w ręce. :) Podczas wizyty w domu rodzinnym odkryłam ostatnio kurzące się kawałki drewna czereśniowego. Uratowałam je, zabrałam do craftowego stołu i potraktowałam jako bazę do pracy. Pierwszy wyszedł wiosennie, mediowo i leśnie. :) Po listę użytych materiałów zapraszam na sklepowego bloga.

I am now altering anything I get my hands on. :) While visiting my family home I discovered a bunch of cherry tree stump slices, lying around getting dusty. I saved them, brought them to my crafting table and treated them as a project base. The first one came out spring-inspired, media-heavy and forest-like. :) You can see the list of materials I used on my store's blog.
