Retro KIT & Antyczna mediowa butelka / Antique mixed media bottle

Mało ostatnio tworzyłam, ale to dlatego, że wykonywałam inne manualne prace. :) Składanie KITów to, powiem Wam, nie przelewki. Widzieliście już Retro KIT? Bardzo jestem z niego dumna, a teraz w końcu miałam chwilę czasu, żeby sama przemienić go w coś twórczego. :D

I haven't been creatively present much recently, but that's because I've been doing other manual labour. :) Assembling KITs is no mean feat, lemme tell you. Have you seen the Retro KIT yet? I'm so proud of it, and now I finally had a little time to make it into something. :D

Przychodzę dziś do Was z mediowym projektem wykorzystującym wszystkie cztery media, które znalazły się w Retro KIT 'Czas Leci', czyli: Crackle Paint DecoArt, czarnym gesso Renesansu, Antiquing Cream Patina DecoArt i Inką Gold Viva Decor. Wszystkie media - oraz dodatki z KITa oblepiły niewielką butelkę po całkiem niezłym trunku. ;)

Today I'm here to share with you a mixed media project using all of the four media that can be found in our 'Time Flies' Retro KIT, which are: DecoArt Crackle Paint, black gesso from Renesans, DecoArt Antiquing Cream Patina and Viva Decor Inka Gold. All the media - and some embellishments from the KIT wound up on a small bottle which used to store rather decent liquor. ;)

Na początek oblepiłam całą butelkę bibułką, w którą zapakowany jest KIT, żeby stworzyć teksturę. Dodałam też sznurek, koronkę, wstążkę jutową, korzonki curly moss - wszystko przykleiłam za pomocą żel medium - jako jedynego medium spoza KITa.

First I wrapped the bottle in the tissue paper it comes packed in to create texture. I also added string, lace, burlap ribbon and curly moss pieces - all glued with gel medium - the only medium not within the KIT which I used. 

Na koniec przykleiłam dodatki metalowe i tekturkowe piórka, a następnie przyszedł czas na mediowanie. Po nałożeniu tu i tam i wyschnięciu Crackle Paint całość pomalowałam czarnym gesso (na zdjęciu powyżej stan słoiczka po pomalowaniu butelki - takie jest wydajne!). Potem wszystko pokryłam patynowym kremem, a gdy wysechł starłam go mokrą chusteczką tak, że pozostał tylko w zagłębieniach.

Then I adhered some metal embellishments and chipboard feathers and next, time came for media work. After applying Crackle Paint here and there and letting it dry, I covered the whole thing with black gesso (the amount in the jar above is what was left - it really goes a long way!). Then I applied the patina cream everywhere, and when it dried I wiped it away with a wet wipe, leaving it only in the recesses.

W końcu przyszedł czas na złotą Inkę Gold - nakładaną palcem tak, by podkreślić trójwymiar projektu. Zostawiamy do wyschnięcia - i gotowe! Tak z pomocą KITa zmediować możecie dowolny przedmiot.

Finally, the time came for Inka Gold - applied with my fingers so as to highlight the dimensionality of the project. Leave to dry - and there it is! That's how, using the KIT, you can media-alter basically any object you like.

Amortentia

Domowe zasoby eliksirów powoli rosną. Jako pierwszy pojawił się eliksir pieprzowy, świetny na przeziębienia, a dziś dołącza do niego Amortencja. Jak wskazuje nazwa, jest to eliksir miłości, butelkę zalterowałam więc w kolorach różu i srebra.

The home potion supply is growing slowly. First it was the pepperup potion, great for colds, and today it's joined by Amortentia. As the name itself says, it is a love potion, so I altered the bottle in shades of pink and silver.

Dolną część pokryłam najpierw gęstą pastą modelującą Maimeri, tworząc teksturę poprzez tapowanie szpatułką. Po wyschnięciu przykleiłam trochę mikrokulek, a następnie pomalowałam wszystko różem otrzymanym poprzez zmieszanie kolorów Primary Magenta i Titan Buff z serii Media Fluid Acrylics. Na koniec wypukłości przetarłam palcem za pomocą Inki Gold w kolorze patynowym.

I first covered the bottom part with Maimeri heavy modeling paste, creating texture by tapping with a spatula. After it dried, I added some microbeads and painted over with a pink shade which resulted from mixing Media Fluid Acrylics in Primary Magenta and Titan Buff. Finally, I rubbed some Platinum Inka Gold onto the raised areas with my finger.

Górną, wąską część fiolki owinęłam ciasno sznurkiem, w który również wtarłam Inkę Gold. Następnie przygotowałam ozdoby, pokrywając brązowe metalowe elementy najpierw gesso, a potem srebrną farbą. Ozdoby zawiesiłam na srebrnych łańcuszkach.

The upper narrow part of the vial was wrapped tight in string, which also received an Inka Gold treatment. Then I got my embellishments ready by covering the bronze metal elements first with gesso and then with silver paint. I used silver chains for embellishments and to attach the metal shapes.

Mroczna księga / A dark book

Alterowanie nie przestaje mnie cieszyć. Tym razem niewielkiej starej książce nadałam trochę mrocznego charakteru.

Altered art does not cease to please me. This time I added some dark character to a small old book.

Czerwienie, brązy i pomarańcze to wynik mieszania ze sobą trzech kolorów DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics: Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna i Quinacridone Gold. To ostatnio moja ulubiona 'trójca' - sięgając po te trzy kolory zawsze mam przekonanie, że wyjdzie z tego coś dobrego. :)

The red, brown and orange hues are the results of mixing three DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic colours: Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna and Quinacridone Gold. This has been my favourite 'trinity' recently - reaching for these three colours is a safe bet for something good to happen. :)

Do czarnych przecierek użyłam kremu do postarzania Antiquing Cream Carbon Black - ta farba to niezawodny sposób na 'mroczność'.

The black is the result of working with Carbon Black Antiquing Cream - this paint is the ultimate 'let's-get-dark' tool for me.  

Nieperfekcyjny shadowbox / Imperfect shadowbox

Jak się czasem zachłysnę jakimś nowo-znalezionym produktem, to aż się praca sama robi. Tak było jak w ręce mi wpadły te laleczki i wszystkie trzy są już zużyte. Dziś pokazuję co się stało z jedną - wylądowała wewnątrz shadowboxa - nieperfekcyjnego, bo i laleczce brakuje rączek, i buteleczka nierówno przyklejona - ale o to chodziło. :) Więcej o projekcie znajdziecie na blogu Retro Kraft Shop. 

Sometimes I get crazy about a newly-found product and then the work just seems to be going all on its own. That's what it was like when I got hold of these dolls and all three have already been used up. Today I'm sharing the first one, which found its way into a shadowbox - an imperfect one, as the doll's missing its arms and the bottle is all crooked - but that was the point. :) For more info on the project you can hop over to the Retro Kraft Shop blog.

Jesienny świecznik / An autumn candle holder

Tak, przyznaję się - skrzywdziłam piękny krzak i zabrałam mu liście, żeby ozdobić sobie jesiennie świecznik. Ale te kolory... nie mogłam się powstrzymać. :) Liście przyklejone do 'szklanki' pozostałej po pachnącej świeczce z Rossmanna za pomocą żel medium. Aż się ciepło w domu robi. :)

Yes, I admit it - I hurt a bush and stole leaves from it to make myself an autumn candle holder. But these colours... I just couldn't help myself. :) The leaves are glued with gel medium to what was left of a scented candle from Rossmann. And it's already getting warmer all around... :)

Walizka na skarby / Treasure suitcase

Leżała, leżała, aż się w końcu doczekała - drewniana walizeczka, która kiedyś przyszła wypełniona starymi elementami zegarowymi i od tamtej pory czekała na swój moment. Korzystając z upałów umyłam ją i wysuszyłam i ozdobiłam w sposób, który ma nie pozostawiać wątpliwości co do zawartości. :) Będzie pełna vintage'owych skarbów.

It waited, it waited and finally it got what was coming for it - a wooden suitcase, which came filled with old clockwork once upon a time and has since been waiting its turn. Thanks to the heatwave I managed to clean and dry it fast and decided to embellish it in a way which would make its contents absolutely clear. :) It's going to be the home to my vintage treasures.

W międzyczasie zakochałam się w drewnianych alfabeto-kafelkach przypominających stemple drukarskie, a przy okazji odkopałam też ulotkę z Muzeum Drukarstwa - pasują do siebie jak ulał. :)

In the meantime, I completely fell in love with the wooden alphabet letter press blocks and I also dug out a leaflet from the Museum of Printing - they match perfectly!

Księga eliksirów i trucizn / Book of Potions and Poisons

Halloween w tym roku przyszło nieco wcześniej. :) Na Halloweenowym spotkaniu scrapowym powstały pajęcze księgi - książka została wyłożona chusteczkami higienicznymi, żeby stworzyć podstawową fakturę, a moja sieć powstała za pomocą kleju na gorąco. Reszta to po prostu dużo czarnej farby akrylowej i odrobina Inki Gold. Pozostaje jeszcze kwestia tego co ma się znaleźć w środku... :)

Halloween came a bit early this year. :) At the Halloween scrapping meet-up we made spider books - I covered the book with thin layers of tissue to create the basic texture and my net was made with hot glue and the rest is basically black acrylic paint and a bit of Inka Gold. Now all that is left is to decide how to use the inside... :)

Nie dość, że scrapowałyśmy to jeszcze pojadłyśmy... kilka fotek. :)

Not only did we scrap, we also had a right feast... some photos. :)
